I want to write a book!
Aug. 9th, 2008 11:40 pmNo, but really. I want to write a book. Funny, since I never seem to be able to finish any of the stories I start writing.
But I've got this crazy idea for a sci-fi story.
It involves gateways, and ancient gate-builders who have since vanished from sight. And if you're thinking it sounds more or less like the plot of Stargate, you can knock that idea right out of your head!
Okay, so the main character is probably going to discover that he's got the ability to turn on Gatebuilder artifacts. But that's nothing like Sheppard! (shut up) ;-)
No. Those minor issues aside (and the gay factor, which is going to be significant, as our hero is going to discover that he likes girls just fine - but he likes boys a lot better), it's actually nothing at all like Stargate.
I rule (if I do say so myself - and I do) at world-building. The unfortunate thing is that I suck at character-building.
Well... I suppose everyone needs some damn-neigh unattainable goal in life - and I figure mine is going to be that book. At least now I know what I'm going to do for MiniNaNoWriMo this year...
