Yes, yes. I admit it. Hotch is cute (if, yes Hotch, you called it yourself), and Beth is... well. Beth.

But please, please, for the love of every deity in existence, please tell me that I'm not the only woman who calls foul on Beth's dress at the end there? Who the heck dresses like that for a quiet night at home? If she hadn't been surprised at Hotch's appearance, if he'd called ahead or something, yes. But on an average night when your might-be-boyfriend is ostensibly at the other end of the country chasing a serial-killer? Really?

So... I see only two options. Either the serial killer's capture was national news (which, yeah. No, I don't buy that), or Beth is keeping an eye on Californian news to keep track of her man and dressed up on the off chance that a) they flew back that evening and b) he'd move up their date.

Which, really? Brings me back to scary near-stalker status. I mean, I get being in love and finding every little thing he does absolutely fascinating, but... yeah. It still bugs me.

You know, I liked Beth just fine up to the moment she faked a cramp in order to beat Hotch. That put a sour taste in my mouth.

And I agree, I VERY rarely hang around in a sexy dress while I'm spending the evening by myself at home. And when I do, it's because I'm weird, HELLO!

But that said, OMG the look on Hotch's face after the kiss! I literally had tears in my eyes. He looked so happy, and I LOVE seeing Hotch look that happy.

Yeah, that wasn't her finest moment, and a blatant use of the fact that she knows Hotch is a gentleman. But I guess I didn't see it as that bad, because Hotch was obviously playing with her. Still... that was cheating. I don't know about Beth (obviously), but my dad used to cheat at cards so I'd win. I would have been less pissed off at that if he'd cheated to win! And the fact is that if the two of them do race, Hotch is taller than Beth, thus his strides is longer. It would be very hard (if not impossible) for her to win a serious race over a longer distance.

Hotch is so cute when he's in love, but it still doesn't make up for the icky feeling I get off of Beth. In fact, it probably makes it worse, because, damnit, he's already suffered through Haley, and he bloody well deserves someone who isn't icky! :-(
