The Sentinel
Jan. 10th, 2008 06:08 pmOkay, so I know Pet Fly ran into some... issues, regarding ownership. But I want the rest of The Sentinel on DVD!
I just finished watching a crappy TV-version of the show, and the show, in and of itself, rocks! Seriously. No wonder Jim/Blair is still one of the major slash pairings out there. There are times the two of them are even more married than Jack and Daniel. House and Wilson. Sheppard and McKay! Yep - they're really really married. To the point of one of them flouncing (watch - it's the only adjective that fits) off in a huff when the other one is home late from work. It's that obvious, I kid you not.
Okay, so most of the time, I get bored with the actual plot of the episodes. Nothing new there. I've done three seasons of NCIS being mainly bored with the plot, so... Jim and Blair though? Make it worth every second. And no, I'm not talking about the fact that Jim has a tendency to wander around in a towel (although that doesn't hurt, y'know?), or that Blair is seriously beautiful (although that doesn't hurt, either) - no; I'm talking about the fact that the two of them together, plus the mythical story of sentinels and guides and spirit-animals and what have you, is pretty much exactly what I want out of a show.
Seriously: in Buffy it was the Watcher/Slayer-thing that kept me hanging around in fandom long after the show had ended. I'm a sucker for a good mythical story-line.
Nothing much more to say except: Pet Fly - sort out your legal issues and get seasons 2-4 out on DVD - pronto!
